The system

Does it require drilling or wall anchors?
No. The Moduqa system is tensioned between floor and ceiling using an adjustable foot mechanism. No drilling, no wall damage. For ceilings above 2.7 m, an optional wall anchor point adds extra stability.

What ceiling height does it work with?
The system adjusts from 2.3 to 3.7 metres. It works in standard Dutch apartments (typically 2.4–2.6 m) and in older buildings with higher ceilings.

Can I assemble it alone?
Yes. The system is designed for single-person assembly. No specialist tools required. Modules are numbered and the bracket interface is the same across every component.

How many times can I disassemble and reassemble it?
We engineer for a minimum of 10 full cycles without quality degradation. In practice, the aluminium profiles and steel brackets are built to last 50 years of normal use.

Compatibility & expansion

Can I expand my system later?
Yes, at any time and without dismantling your existing setup. Add a profile to extend sideways, or add modules to an existing bay. All components across all Moduqa generations use the same bracket interface.

Are all modules compatible with all profiles?
Yes. Every Moduqa module — shelves, drawers, wine racks, hanging rails, shoe racks, book displays — connects to any Moduqa profile via the same universal bracket. There are no module-specific profiles.

What if I lose a part or something breaks?
Every component is available individually in our webshop. We commit to keeping all parts available and compatible for as long as the system exists.

Materials & finish

What is the profile made from?
Extruded aluminium alloy 6063 T5, black matt anodised. Anodising is a surface treatment integrated into the material — it won't chip or peel like paint.

What are the shelves made from?
MDF with a walnut veneer finish. The same finish is used across shelf panels, drawer fronts, and cabinet doors — so everything matches regardless of when you buy it.

Does the finish scratch?
The anodised aluminium profiles are highly scratch-resistant. The MDF shelf panels are more susceptible to surface scratches but can be replaced individually (from €85 per panel) without touching the rest of your system.

Pricing & delivery

What does a starter configuration cost?
The Starter Configuration (2 profiles, 4 shelf panels, feet) is €849. Individual modules start at €85 (shelf panel) and €125–155 for functional modules. Full configurations can scale up to approximately €5,000.

Do you ship outside the Netherlands?
We currently ship within the Netherlands and to neighbouring EU countries. Contact us at info@moduqa.com for specific delivery questions.

What is the lead time?
